This blog is the shared space for technology campers taking part in the Edmonds Technology Summer Camp! Through a series of creative and fun challenges you will build your own knowledge and skill using technology. The learning from each challenge can be used in your classroom with students, with your grade level/department or with your staff. Each challenge asks you to share your thinking on this group blog as a brief reflection.
The reflection should capture your experience and your thinking about the challenge and the tool you explored. Here are some questions to help you as you write your blog posts:
- What did you create, and why?
- What went well for you?
- What was challenging?
- What did you enjoy?
- What ideas do you have for using this tool with your students, grade level, staff or to communicate with families?
Please use these questions as a starting point and add any other thoughts and ideas.

I updated and refreshed my SWIFT classroom Webpage. I have had this page for quite awhile now but I had fallen out of the habit of keeping it current. I added the Discussion link and like the idea of having place for students to respond to a question/prompt/thinking. I am also thinking about ways that I can add to the Links page for an easy way to give students access to pages and links that I want them to interact with. I like thinking about the possibilities of ways that I can use this better with my students.
ReplyDeleteI tried to start using this as a place to post newsletters for parents to access as well as a place to store useful dates and information. I am thinking about how I can add a parent survey where parents can provide me with information about their students and things that they might like to see happen in their students' learning.
I am hoping to learn how to link a calendar to this page and make updating and sharing information easier.
I created a calendar, which I hope to have students maintain. My next attempt will be to create a classroom webpage, and embed the calendar in it. Last summer, I began creating a webpage, but felt deterred in that I needed someone to "publish" it, or make it viewable from the school website. Is there a shortcut for this? I'm not even sure WHO is in charge of that at my school. Can I just do it myself?
